Is Doctor Strange making a Westview house call? Watch this awesome WandaVision fan video that features an appearance by a Doctor Strange doppelgänger.
Doctor Strange joins WandaVision in a hilarious and imaginative fan video. There’s only one episode left for Marvel’s hit Disney Plus series featuring Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) but there’s still a lot of questions that may or may not be answered when the finale concludes. With WandaVision confirmed to lead right into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, could the Luke-Skywalker level cameo that Olsen couldn’t believe hadn’t leaked yet be Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) himself?
It would make a lot of sense. Episode 8, “Previously On,” explored Wanda’s past trauma. Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) revealed at the end of the episode that Wanda’s grief-induced Chaos magic (that created the sitcom version of Westview and a whole new Vision out of nothing) made her the legendary Scarlet Witch. With that huge reveal in mind, Agatha’s grip of Wanda’s children, and Tyler Hayward’s secret White Vision ready to launch on Wanda’s home, it’s understandable that Wanda would need some backup in the big finale fight. A promo photo for episode nine teased a Maximoff family teamup, with Wanda, Vision, Billy and Tommy looking like they’re ready to fight. Could Doctor Strange join the Maximoffs in the heat of the upcoming battle? Or would his appearance spell the end of Wanda’s trauma-induced fantasy world?
Benedict Cumberbatch look-a-like, Cumbermatch, created an awesome fan video on Instagram that depicts Dr. Strange coming to Wanda’s aid. The video even hilariously includes Dr. Strange’s cloak of levitation ready to help. Check out the fun video in its entirety below:
What’s great about WandaVision is that the story has been so unpredictable, and yet it’s still exciting to theorize about what could happen next. Based on the story itself, it would make plausible sense for Dr. Strange to show up in Westview, but his appearance could either work in favor of what Wanda wants or he could act completely against her wishes. Wanda has made it clear from the start of the show that she doesn’t like anyone intruding on her perfect domestic sitcom suburbia life.
So while a Dr. Strange cameo in the WandaVision would definitely be fun for fans, it may result in the shattering of Wanda’s Westview, and the end of her happily ever after with Vision. After all, there are a lot of other real-life people stuck in Westview, and Dr. Strange would likely want to correct that, even if it meant going up against Wanda to attempt to do some universe course-correcting. The ramifications of Wanda’s Chaos magic could have even possibly set up the villain for Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. There’s a lot of possibilities that only the WandaVision season finale can answer (or leave on a cliffhanger).
Ultimately, WandaVision has always been Wanda’s story and a deep-dive into the after-effects of her prolonged grief and trauma. Hopefully, the season finale will result in some lasting happiness for Wanda Maximoff, otherwise, who knows where the MCU will venture next for the Scarlet Witch’s story. The possibilities are as endless as the multiverse.
